Whore, a mixed media project that includes music, videos, design, and a gallery event, was conceptualized by me in the in spring of 2019. It is a celebration of sexual freedom in every sense of the word. It's centered around a 9-track album that's both humorous and raunchy. Inspired by the concept of taking ownership of your own body by selling it to others, "Whore" is the sonic equivalent of selling sex. Recognizing the harmful connotations that word has had on women and non-binary people, all of the project's visuals were either done by, or with the help of, women and non-binary artists. Through the use of themes centered around eroticism and delinquency, I, along with my collaborators, submerse the listener into a fantasy realm of debauchery. With disgustingly specific lines about sexual experiences, silly interludes of dialogue, and upbeat production that treads the border between exciting and ridiculous, the listener gets an honest glimpse into APOLLO's most ludicrous imaginations.
