ROB APOLLO
MUSIC + MEDIA ARTIST | DETROIT + ST LOUIS
"Go Kart" marks Rob Apollo's return to pop-rap. In this lively love song, Apollo uses a go kart as an emblem for young love: exciting, fast, and lacking sophistication. "We don't need a car, girl we still gonna' dart" acts as the song's thesis, recognizing that in youth, having something proper isn't a requirement to adventure. Together, the upbeat production and reflective songwriting illustrate the excitement of a brewing relationship.

The song's 3-part music video is just as fun as the music itself. The video follows a full day of Apollo's adventures on his go kart, first with friends, and later with his lover. This is Rob Apollo's second single + music video release in as many months, with "Go Kart" following up October's "Scam City." Production on "Go Kart" was handled by Family Man Xay, a frequent collaborator and close friend of Apollo. The music video was co-directed by Apollo and Harvey Sees.
